"Trans-" is a KCI-listed journal published by Sungkyunkwan University's Transmedia Research Institute and is an open access journal that allows anyone to access articles online for free.
"Trans-" summarises and introduces various theoretical and practical studies related to the transmedia ecosystem. It aims to lay the academic foundation for today's media and art fields and to discover new research topics.
"Trans- " is published twice a year (end of February and end of August), with submission deadlines of 25 December and 25 June. Articles submitted after the deadline will be considered for publication in the next issue.
We are always looking for papers, so we encourage researchers to submit their work.
Article topics
- Convergence culture, convergent media and content research
- Theory and production studies in all areas of the arts, including film, performance, exhibition, and interdisciplinary genres.
- Theory and practice of media education and arts education
- Interdisciplinary research in the humanities, arts, science and technology
Eligibility
- Professionals engaged in research, teaching, or industrial activities in fields related to the theme
- Master's students or above, or those who have worked in related fields for at least three years
Submission Methods
- Using the online submission system. acoms.accesson.kr/trans/
- After registering as a member, log in as an 'author' and submit without approval.
Review Fee and Publication Fee
- When submitting an article, a review fee of 60,000 won must be paid.
- Upon confirmation of publication, a publication fee of 200,000 won must be paid.
- An additional 100,000 won is charged for articles with private notations such as research grants.
- There are no subscription fees, annual fees, or fees for exceeding the standard page limit.
